700 new confirmed cases in non-metropolitan areas

The spread of the infection is not serious, with the number of confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in non-metropolitan areas reaching 700. From the 4th, it continued to have 600 people for four days in a row, and on the 8th it crossed the 700 mark. It is the first time since the first pandemic in February and March of last year that the number of confirmed cases in non-metropolitan areas recorded around 700. The proportion also exceeded 40%, reaching the highest level since the 4th pandemic.

 

Busan has the largest number of new confirmed cases in the non-metropolitan area. According to the city of Busan, there were 70 cases in the afternoon of the 6th, 101 cases in the morning of the 7th, and 46 cases in the afternoon. The cumulative number of confirmed cases has reached 9024. Most of them are family members, co-workers, and acquaintances of existing confirmed patients.

A case of “breakthrough infection” was confirmed at the Gijang-gun nursing hospital. Of the 38 confirmed cases (34 patients, 4 workers), 34 had completed vaccination. Of the remaining four, three completed the first vaccination, and one was confirmed as unvaccinated. The first confirmed patient at the nursing hospital is an employee. According to the confirmation of the family, they were classified as contacts and tested, and on the 6th, they tested positive.

The spread of Gyeongnam and Ulsan, which are adjacent to each other, is also difficult. In Gyeongsangnam-do, 118 confirmed cases were added in the previous day. In particular, among 18 cities and counties in Gyeongnam, it was poured out in Changwon-si and Gimhae-si, which are the 4th stage of social distancing.

In Changwon, serial infections related to Namchangwon Nonghyup Mart are continuing. With the first confirmed case on the 2nd, the cumulative number of mart-related confirmed cases has risen to 39 in a week. One civil servant of Changwon City Hall was also infected through a family member who stopped by the mart, and about 1,200 city hall employees were tested for COVID-19 over the weekend.

At a nursing hospital in Gimhae, 10 out of 13 confirmed cases were confirmed as breakthrough infections. The rest were 1 person who received the first dose and 2 who were not vaccinated. The hospital confirmed the first case of one resident on the 5th. Of the three wards, one ward where the confirmed case occurred was closed.

In Ulsan, a new cluster infection was confirmed at a cleaning company in Buk-gu. There were 58 new confirmed cases the day before, 26 of which were related to the company. At this company, after one employee was confirmed on the 5th, another one was added on the same day. The cumulative number of confirmed cases has risen to 32.

In Daegu, the infection is spreading to elementary school care classes following churches and taekwondo schools. As of 00:00 that day, an additional 63 people have been reported. Of these, nine are related to the M church, where the group infection occurred. The cumulative number of confirmed cases related to the church has risen to 151 in Daegu alone.

The quarantine authorities believe that members of sister churches in three Daegus, including Uksu-dong, Suseong-gu, Yulha-dong, Dong-gu, and Daegok-dong, Dalseo-gu, and four sister churches, including Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, have been actively interacting with each other, such as holding worship services and meetings on weekends from June to July.

In Suseong-gu Taekwondo field, 8 more people were added, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Daegu to 95. This group of infected people started when five members of a family of pastors from a church developed symptoms after they went on vacation to Jeju Island. The infection spread to the Taekwondo school and church the family attended. In Dalseo-gu Elementary School's care classroom, after one instructor was confirmed on the 4th, there were 14 cumulative confirmed cases until today.

In Gwangju and Jeollanam-do, infections are spreading through visits from outsiders or contact with confirmed patients from other regions. Of the 32 new confirmed cases in Gwangju the day before, 10 were related to restaurants and saunas, which started with a visit from a confirmed person in the metropolitan area.

In Jeollanam-do, there were 20 new confirmed cases the day before, and most of them were confirmed to be infections caused by contact with outsiders. 11 people were infected by a chain infection between a confirmed person in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do who visited a swimming pool in Gwangyang, and a user who overlapped the movement line, and three additional cases were confirmed by contact with a confirmed person in Jeonbuk, Busan, and Gyeonggi.

The quarantine authorities in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do believe that the spread of Corona 19 in the region is in a critical situation because the number of travel and traffic during the holiday season has increased and contact with foreigners has increased.
